Who We Are

We are a passionate, well traveled, young, international team. We are in to extreme sports and love to face the challenges that living in new places around the world poses, as we have a love for interacting with new cultures and experiencing new styles of life. As a company we bring these passions to the table by offering full cultural immersion experiences which include home-stays, language courses, internships/volunteer positions and the necessary contacts to participate in the best sports and general travel Ecuador has to offer.

Our organization seeks not only to offer complete immersion experiences to international students and travelers, but also to help clarify the most common intercultural ambiguities associated with living abroad—how to arrive, way of life, customs, culture, places to stay, cost of living, etc., while simultaneously benefitting the local community through the development of social projects.

We are also very environmentally conscious and are doing all that we can not to leave carbon footprints where we tread. Because of this commitment El Nomad does everything possible to operate using as many recycled products and recycling as much of the waste produced by our center as we possibly can. El Nomad also promises to plant a tree, native to the Andes region of Ecuador, for each student who participates in our program. This tree will be named after you and if you would like, you will have the opportunity to take care of and watch the tree grow during your stay in Ecuador. This tree will represent a small piece of you that will stay Ecuador forever.

Bambu Travel is an Ecuadorian travel agency who specializes in Galapagos travel and ecotourism. They coordinate the majority of the travel we include in our packages and organize all of the add on travel packages we offer. Bambu Travel offers El Nomad students a 10% discount off of any add on trips they purchase on top of their El Nomad immersion experience.

Cachumambe is the best Salsa school in Cuenca! They teach many forms of Salsa and are offering a 10% discount for all classes and services at Cachumbambe Salsa School. Classes are available by the hour, week and month and can be coordinated directly through the El Nomad office.
