Custom Group Programs in Ecuador
WHAT ARE CUSTOM GROUP PROGRAMS?
Custom group programs are short- or long-term programs that are designed and led by faculty members from an educational institutuion. Customized group programs are of the same nature, except they may be community service clubs, church groups, sports teams, etc. Both have the same goal, to provide program participants with a structured group experience abroad.
WHAT AREAS OF STUDY CAN EL NOMAD CREATE PROGRAMS FOR?
El Nomad can work with group programs from almost any area of study. A few samples of programs we have developed include sustainble tourism, civic engagement/community service, Spanish language and culture, social justice, environmental studies, and public health.
WHAT ABOUT LANGUAGE ABILITY?
We have worked with groups that have no Spanish speakers to groups that are specifically for more advanced Spanish language students and are happy to work with groups of any language ability and always provide bilingual program assistants/guides to accompay your group.
WHEN CAN MY GROUP VISIT ECUADOR?
Custom group programs are available through El Nomad throughout the year. Program start and end dates depend entirely on you and your group. Simply let us know when you would like to come and we will make arrangements.
HOW DOES THE ACADEMIC SIDE OF THE PROGRAM WORK?
El Nomad Immersion Programs will connect you and your group with guest lecturers, site visits, and other related excursions from your field of study or interest. We work with an extensive network of academics, students, government agencies, NGOs, and non-profit organiztions that are always more than happy to receive groups.
We can also provide space for group meetings, lectures, etc. if your group needs this type of space. Depending on what you would like to do spaces can vary from a formal classroom to a casual reunion in a cafe.
HOW LONG CAN WE STAY?
Our custom group program options begin at one week in duration and can go as long as your group desires to be abroad. Our program durations are completely customizable and we are happy to provide you with an outline for programs of any duration. When planning your program, however, it is best to keep in mind that Ecuador provides a visa upon entry for 90 days. If you keep your program under 3 months (90 days) in duration your group will not need to worry about applying for student visas. This can help keep the cost down and the preparation process simple.
WHERE IN ECUADOR CAN WE GO?
El Nomad's main office is located in Cuenca, Ecuador , however, we run custom group programs throughout the country. We have taken groups in to the depths of the jungle, the Andean region, and the coast. We have had groups stay with rural communities to learn their ways of life, explore large cities like Quito and Guayaquil, and everything in beetween. Whatever your interest is we can coordinate everything needed to make it happen.
WHERE WILL OUR GROUP STAY?
Accommodation with groups can vary depending on what your group would like to do. El Nomad can offer homestays, hostels, hotels, ecolodges, and stays with rural communities.
HOW WILL OUR GROUP GET AROUND THE COUNTRY?
We use a combination of private and public transportation. What we use will depending entirely on the type of experience your group is hoping to have. We will work with you directly to make sure that the type of transportation will fit your group's needs.
WHAT WILL THE PROGRAM COST?
Every custom group program has a different cost. Our fees depend on program duartion, accommodation, amount of transportation needed and type, etc. We would be more than happy to provide you with a price quote if you provide us with your program details.
